This is an older model - much preferred by many players - without a bell plaque; the horn is made from yellow brass which still has around 75% of its original lacquer and, although there is evidence of dent removal work around the underside of the bell tail, this horn is nevertheless in very good general condition. Playing-wise, it's just lovely: unusually free-blowing for a 103, with a delightful mid-range legato facility, it's got a secure, slotted high register and makes that classic Alex sound throughout. Wear and tear is minimal, although there are some surface scratches and blemishes. Overall a decent, lovely-playing horn. £POA |
