These wonderful instruments are used by top players worldwide. This example has a medium bell, producing a bright, perky yet warm and sophisticated sound rich in overtones. The horn plays flawlessly - as you'd expect - and is secure and even across all registers. Paxman's wonderful workmanship renders this a top class horn which is a joy to play: excellent, 'notchy' high register, warm, fluid mid register and a free-blowing and meaty low register. Around 15 years old, it is showing slight signs of wear and tear - reflected in the price - but nothing which in any way detracts from how superbly it plays. The lacquer is mostly intact, the valve compression is perfect and it comes in a hard, Paxman style case in good condition. Price is only £2450 GB Pounds. |
