Yes - MP3 downloads of Absent Soloists CDs @ only £9-95! If you can't wait for us to send you an Absent Soloists CD, you can purchase our recordings online and be playing along in seconds. Since we don't need to send you a hard copy CD, we can sell you these recordings individually - one version of a concerto at a time - and so you only pay for exactly what you want. What this boils down to is £9-95 per concerto - less than a third of the price of a hard copy CD. If you want more than 3 versions of the same concerto - maybe at two tempos and two pitches - you'll be better off buying a hard copy CD direct from the Absent Soloists site here.
But if you want three or less versions of a concerto, you'll be better off buying an immediate download. But please - read the rest of this page first.
MP3 download instructions
For each concerto there are versions at both concert pitch (A=440) for the modern horn, and classical pitch (A=430) for the natural horn, and each is available at 3 separate tempos - Brisk, Moderate and Study.
You can hear an MP3 sample of each movement of each version of each concerto - so you can choose the tempo and pitch you want: check out the 'Listen to Demos' link in the menu on the left. Then click on the appropriate link for the concerto you want to download in the
menu to the left and follow the straightforward instructions. With every download, you'll also receive .pdf files which give you all the original CD artwork including track listings, and a tuning tone at the appropriate pitch.
Using iTunes (downloadable free from here) or Windows Media Player (downloadable free from here), you can burn your own CD from your download. Full instructions will be supplied in a ReadMe file which will automatically come with your download. Or you can play your downloads straight from your computer if you're hooked up to a hifi.
Enjoy!
