Give your horn – and your playing - a new lease of life:have it... 'Wiltshired'!
We have sold literally hundreds of horns to players all over the globe and, of course, they are always fully renovated and reconditioned before they leave our headquarters. In fact, they’re ‘Wiltshired’! Many players have expressed astonishment at how incredibly well our horns work and have asked us how we do it. We even have professional players bringing us brand new horns to be 'Wiltshired' before they use them. What is it that we do to horns that makes them play so incredibly well? Understandably... we're not saying! Not entirely, anyway. Obviously, we completely dismantle the instruments and clean them very thoroughly inside and out – but we’re not saying how – and obviously we remove the valves and clean and treat these and the valve chambers – but we’re not saying how we do this either! We also remove dents and replace any parts that are not functioning perfectly. And we do other, secret, things to horns – scientific things, nothing mystical here – that simply make them work much better. We don’t freeze them or anything silly like that – before you begin wondering – but we have developed specialist treatments and techniques which really do work spectacularly well. We only do complete overhauls and we do these at a fixed, inclusive price whether your horn is a single, a double or a triple: £395 GBP per horn, plus any expensive parts, which are charged at cost. The odd linkage, screws, springs etc are not charged for additionally. But if your horn needs a new leadpipe, for example, this would incur an additional charge, obviously. ‘Wiltshiring’ involves:

How long does it take?Usually we can turn a horn around in 1-2 weeks. What if I don’t like it?You will! Your horn will play better than it ever has before. But if you are disappointed – something which has never happened, not once - we’ll refund your money in full, no questions asked. Are there any catches? If your horn needs many replacement parts these will be charged for at cost, in addition to the reconditioning fee, although this isn’t really a ‘catch,’ is it? And we will speak to you before doing any work that will incur such additional costs. If your horn is seriously damaged – flattened by a steam roller, for example – we may decline to accept it for reconditioning! Our fee does not include transit & insurance costs. These are obviously determined by your location, so please contact Alan Wiltshire for information if you are outside the UK. Anywhere within the UK, transit & insurance costs £30 GBP in each direction. But otherwise, no, there are no catches! Do you do lacquering?Yes, and we do a fantastic job, but obviously not as part of an overhaul. Lacquering incurs an additional charge. Please contact Alan Wiltshire for further information. Right! I want my horn ‘Wiltshired’ and I want it done NOW – no question about it! How do I organise it?Simply phone Alan Wiltshire or send an email - now. You’ll regret it if you don’t and you’ll be delighted once you have! Do it now – you know you want to! Contact details are here. |
