Yamaha 664 - some say Yamaha's best horn ever... PDF Print E-mail

Newly arrived is this Yamaha 664 full F/Bb double horn.  Launched as a 'student' instrument, these fine horns were snapped up by amateurs and professionals alike and as soon as you blow one you know why:  they play truly superbly, in all registers, and they're really well made, sturdy horns. They've got medium bells - unusual for a Kruspe wrap horn - and so make a bright, perky 'European' sound;  and their valves are tight, so they've got great high registers.

This example is a little bit tatty - some dings here and there, the odd bit of missing lacquer - but nothing to worry about at all.  It comes from a retiring top UK professional player and will make someone very happy indeed.
